AirAsia Offers 30% Discount on All Flights

Budget carrier AirAsia on Friday announced it’ll offer a 30% discount on flights and all of its seats. In a statement, AirAsia said its discounted fares are in aid of the Department of Tourism’s goal to improve domestic tourism amid the novel coronavirus 2019 outbreak in China.

To avail of the discounted airfares, passengers can book until February 23 for the traveling period between February 24 and September 30.
AirAsia can also be currently offering a 22% discount on bags. Discounts are only applicable during the time of booking a flight throughout the promotional period, the company said. We’re pleased to provide fantastic deals to our guests, particularly those flying to our domestic destinations.

“We are devoted to making travel more affordable and accessible to all, and have been working closely with tourism secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat to attain this,” AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla said. “We hope that guests take benefit of our promotional fares and explore the available options when booking, like bags, hotels, and activities to their future getaways,” Isla continued.

The statement came following tourism industry stakeholders met with President Rodrigo Duterte and consented to lower airfare and hotel prices. The steps are aims at countering the adverse effects of COVID-19 and also to encourage domestic tourism among locals. Budget carrier Cebu Pacific had previously declared a comparable reduction in fares.

Booking Period: February 19 – 23, 2020
Travel Period: February 24 – September 30, 2020
