Zamboanga‘s vision is to be an economic hub and investment haven in the south. The ZamboEcozone is the only economic zone and freeport in the Visayas and Mindanao. Zamboanga’s international seaport has passenger trips to and from Sandakan, Malaysia. And there are now barter trade areas where you can find great bargains on Indonesian and Malaysian goods. Zamboanga is also known as the City of Flowers because its naturally mild climate has resulted in numerous flower farms filled with lovely blooms. In Pasonaca Park alone, there are 600 different kinds of orchids. While in town, also drop by Fort Pilar and Plaza Pershing, remnants of the Spanish era, and the Yakan Weaving Village.
