PAL unveils Cebu-Los Angeles Routes
Flag carrier Philippine Airlines will reintroduce a nonstop Cebu LA support in May 2020, restoring the only direct air connection between the Visayas and Mainland USA. Residents of cities in the Visayas and Mindanao will enjoy convenient connections through Cebu due to their travels to Los Angeles, America’s capital of entertainment, and gateway to Southern California. The new service can help enhance Philippine tourism. A US-based leisure and business travelers can now avail of the fastest and easiest travel option — one flight nonstop to the Queen City of the South, vs. less convenient options which demand transfer flight connections through other Asian divisions.
Furthermore, American tourists can currently benefit from Cebu’s excellent hub transit facilities to transfer to connecting PAL flights from Cebu to Siargao, Camiguin, Davao, Boracay, Coron, Bacolod, Iloilo along with other fabled vacation destinations to get many sunshine and sea recreation along with other nature adventures.
The initiation of the new service will increase PAL’s network offering to a total of 64 flights per week to the United States, Canada, and the U.S. Territory of Guam. The Cebu LA flights of PAL will depart three times per week for L.A. from the new Terminal 2 of the Mactan Cebu International Airport, utilizing PAL’s largest airplane, the 370-seater Boeing 777-300ER.
Starting from May 2, 2020, PAL Flight PR152 will depart Cebu at 9 PM every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and arrive in LA at 7: 30PM on the same days. For the LAX CEB journey, PR 153 will depart Los Angeles at 11 PM Thursday, each Tuesday and Saturday, touching down two weeks later in Cebu at 5 AM following a 14-hour nonstop flight. The most recent version PAL B777 includes a fully flat bed in business class, with an 18.4 inches Television screen, retractable privacy dividers, an ottoman which doubles as a storage area, and in-seat power and Universal Serial Bus ports.
Economy class includes a seat pitch of up to 34 inches, and each seat is equipped with 11 inches Television screens and USB ports. We anticipate treating our clients to the fastest flights between the U.S. Mainland and the Visayas / Mindanao region, through PAL’s new Cebu LAX route. The airline had previously operated Cebu LAX flights up to May 2017.
