Philippine Airlines Teams Up With American Airlines, Signs New Codeshare Agreement

Philippine Airlines and American Airlines have recently formed a new codeshare agreement, allowing customers to book flights on both airlines. This partnership aims to provide easier travel between the United States and the Philippines, with specific flights available from Los Angeles to seven different US cities and from Tokyo to Manila or Cebu.

The codeshare agreement between American Airlines and Philippine Airlines allows seamless travel between the two countries. Philippine Airlines will offer its code on American Airlines flights between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and seven different United States cities, including Atlanta, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando, and Washington DC. On the other hand, American Airlines customers can take advantage of certain Philippine Airlines-operated routes, such as services to Manila or Cebu from Tokyo.

Anmol Bhargava, the Vice President of Global Alliances and Partnerships of American Airlines, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that it will provide customers with seamless connections to Manila and Cebu, two important destinations in the Philippines. He also highlighted the Philippines’ status as one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia and expressed a desire to enhance the partnership further.

Eric David Anderson, the Chief Commercial Officer of Philippine Airlines, emphasized the partnership’s significance in expanding options for travelers between Asia and the United States. He stated that the partnership aligns with the airline’s long-term strategy of building its global reach and creating more opportunities for travelers to discover the wonders of the Philippines.

This new codeshare agreement follows recent partnerships announced by both airlines. Philippine Airlines recently reached a codeshare agreement with Singapore Airlines, allowing travelers to take advantage of flights to 27 destinations in the Philippines. Additionally, American Airlines expanded its partnership with Aer Lingus, enabling travelers to connect to various destinations in Ireland through Dublin.
