Cebu Pacific Resumes Davao-Singapore Flights by October 30, 2022
Cebu Pacific has announced that it will resume its Davao-Singapore route, making it the first local airline to restart foreign flights from Francisco Bangoy International Airport. Beginning on October 30, Cebu Pacific will restart direct flights from Davao to Singapore and vice versa, with at least three weekly trips throughout the week.
Cebu Pacific returns to the Francisco Bangoy International Airport, known as Davao International Airport, for the first time since COVID-19 began in an effort to continue expanding its flights outside of Metro Manila.
Cebu Pacific Davao-Singapore Flights Schedule
Cebu Pacific flight 5J 715 will depart from Davao International Airport at 17:15 and arrive at Singapore Changi Airport at 21:10. The return trip, flight 5J 716, leaves Singapore at 21:55 and arrives in Davao at 01:40 the following morning.
According to Cebu Pacific’s Xander Lao, the budget airline reopened the route to serve passengers in Mindanao who require travel outside of the country. He stated that resuming operations in the areas would be given priority for the rest of 2022.
“We are pleased to be bringing back this route since we know that passengers in Mindanao have been waiting for more affordable and convenient international flight options,” Lao added.
With our Manila operations now better than ever, it’s time to move forward and begin growing our regional hubs. We should be back at 100% pre-pandemic capacity within a few months,” he continued.
Cebu Pacific has recently announced that travelers headed to Singapore no longer have to submit a negative COVID-19 test or undergo mandatory quarantine procedures. The only thing guests need to bring is proof of full vaccination in the form of a vaccine certificate or yellow card.
Similarly, travelers must fill out a Singapore arrival card three days before the trip. Cebu Pacific said that returning to Davao will boost Filipinos’ confidence and they no longer need to take a COVID-19 test before departure.
The low-cost carrier still reminded its passengers that they should always check the requirements for entering their destination ahead of time.
Cebu Pacific is increasing its flight volume to several destinations as countries ease their border restrictions, with particularly high numbers going to Bangkok, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Kuala Lumpur, Nagoya, Osaka Seoul and Singapore.
Listed Cebu Air Inc., which operates Cebu Pacific, has set aside P32.8 billion for capital expenditures this year as it looks to add seven new aircraft to meet the growing demand for air travel.
Davao is the largest city in Mindanao and is a popular tourist destination for its beaches, mountains, and parks. Cebu Pacific offers Davao to Singapore flights that take approximately six hours.
