Siargao Island

Siargao is a tear-drop shaped island found in the Philippine Sea located some 196 kilometers southeast of Tacloban province in the Surigao del Norte province.

It is also known as the Surfing Capital of the Philippines. Conde Nast Traveler readers named the island as the Best Island in the World in 2019.

Its land area is approximately 437 square kilometers (or approximately 169 square miles). The coastline is highlighted by a succession of breathtaking reefs and pristine white sandy beaches. The neighboring islets have similar land and sea features.

The island is comprised by the municipalities of Burgos, Dapa, Del Carmen, General Luna, San Benito, Pilar, San Isidro, Santa Monica and Socorro.
