As you plan your business or pleasure trip to Indonesia like Jakarta, you’ll need to consider a few things. In this article, we will outline the Indonesia travel requirements for foreigners and provide information on the COVID restrictions that are currently in place. Here is a checklist of what you’ll need to do in order to make your trip go as smoothly as possible.

Indonesia Travel Requirements per Philippine Airlines Advisory
Allowed Travelers
- Indonesian Citizens (WNI)
- Foreign Citizens (WNA) from all foreign countries who will enter Indonesia, either directly or by transitting to foreign countries, are temporarily prohibited from entering Indonesia unless they meet one of the following criteria:
- Referring to Regulation of Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights Number 34 of 2021. these restrictions are excluded against foreigners holding legal and valid Visa and Stay Permit (consisting of: Service Visa, Diplomatic Visa, Visit Visa, Temporary Stay Visa, Official Stay Permit, Diplomatic Stay Permit, Temporary Stay Permit (KITAS), Permanent Stay Permit (KITAP), foreigners with health and humanitarian purpose (after receiving a recommendation from the ministry/institution that carries out the COVID- 9 handling function), and transportation crew that comes with the conveyance
- Referring to the Travel Corridor Agreement (TCA)
- Obtained a special written consideration/permission from an Indonesian Ministry/Institution
- Delegations of G20 member countries
- Foreigners (WNA) on short term visit (Leisure Purposes)
- VISA Free for ASEAN Nationalities
- Visa Free is valid for 30 days. If there is an intent or possibility to extend more than 30 days then should apply for VoA
- Other Nationalities are required to avail VoA which costs IDR 500,000 and will be paid upon arrival
- IDR 500,000 (approximately USD35) which will be paid upon arrival at Bank BRI counters before the Immigration check in the Arrival Hall.
- VOA is valid for thirty (30) days stay and traveler may extend for thirty (30) days more, maximum sixty (60) days stay in total. Visa extension can be processed at the nearest Immigration Office by the hotel location.

Indonesia Travel Requirements: Medical Documents
- Recognized Proof of vaccination shows that the traveler has completed the full dose of vaccine fourteen (14) days before departure.
- EXEMPTION: Travelers ages 6 to 17 years old are no longer required to present Proof of Vaccination

- Registration to PeduliLindungi Mobile application which you can download via Android or iOS.
- Registration to the E-HAC (via PeduliLindungi)
- PH Bureau of Immigration Declaration Form
- Registration to Electronic Custom Declaration
Indonesia Travel Requirements: Quarantine Requirements
- Those fully vaccinated or who have received boosters at a minimum of fourteen (14) days prior to the departure will be able to continue the journey (without undergoing quarantine)
- Those with a single dose of the Covid-19 vaccine or unvaccinated must undergo five (5) days of quarantine. Quarantine facilities are prepared by the government facility for Indonesia Migrant Workers, Students (free) or in designated hotels at their own expenses (for general Indonesian Citizens)
- Foreign travelers under 18 years old or under 18 years old need special protection, the duration of quarantine follows provisions that apply to parent or caregiver/travel companion.
- International travelers with special health conditions or comorbid diseases who cannot receive vaccines are required to present a doctor’s certificate from the government-owned Hospital from the location of departure stating that the person has not been and/or cannot receive COVID-19 vaccination.

As per Government regulations, guests bound for Jakarta are required to present printed copies of the following travel documents upon check-in:
Indonesia Travel Requirements for Indonesian Nationals:
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate. Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated Indonesians will not be accepted for the flight. The Vaccination Certificate must reflect two (2) doses of Pfizer, Moderna, Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Johnson and Johnson and must be written in English. The flight date must be at least 14 days from the last dose.
- Download and register for the PeduliLindungi App. Please update your contact information, COVID-19 status, and vaccination status.
- E-Customs Declaration Form must be accomplished. Passengers can scan the bar code upon arrival and accomplish prior entry to DPS Customs Area.
Indonesia Travel Requirements for Foreigners
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate. Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated foreigners will not be accepted for the flight. - Passport valid for at least six (6) months
- Proof of booking confirmation and payment for accommodation while in Indonesia
- Download and register for the PeduliLindungi App. Please update your contact information, COVID-19 status, and vaccination status.
- E-Customs Declaration Form must be accomplished. Passengers can scan the bar code upon arrival and accomplish prior entry to DPS Customs Area.
Types of Visas / Stay Permits allowed to enter Indonesia
- Diplomatic and Official Visa Holders
- Diplomatic and Official Stay Permit
- Holders of Indonesian Temporary Residence Card (KITAS) and Indonesian Permanent Residence Card (KITAP)
- Visitor Visas – B211A, B211B, Limited Stay Visa, C312 (Work Visa), C31232, C314, C315, C317
- Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Travel Card (KPP APEC)
Traditional border crossers can also enter the Indonesian territory. Note that Visa On Arrival (VOA) is granted to passport holders from select countries, which includes the Philippines.
RT-PCR upon arrival is only required for guests with a temperature of at least 37.5 degrees Celsius.
