Updated Philippine Airlines Travel Advisory COVID-19 (March 31, 2021): Philippine Airlines cancels several domestic flights. Please check canceled flights for March 31 to April 4, 2020.

Due to current government restrictions on non-essential travel in and out of Manila during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) period, Philippine Airlines is compelled to cancel the following selected domestic flights.

  1. Convert your ticket to a Travel Voucher (request until June 30, 2021);
  2. Avail of unlimited rebooking (no rebooking fee) until December 31, 2021. If you will be completing your travel in the same booking class by June 30, 2021 (or ticket validity, whichever comes first), there will be no fare difference charge;
  3. Refund your ticket without penalties

At present, until April 4, all domestic flights to and from Manila shall carry only essential travelers ( Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs), Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and Approved Persons Outside Residences (APORs) ), subject to compliance with travel protocols required by the LGU of final destination.

Updated Philippine Airlines Travel Advisory COVID-19 (March 28, 2021)

Philippine Airlines has committed that Manila flights will continue during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) imposed on Metro Manila and outlying areas but subject to protocols.

International and domestic flights to and from MANILA shall continue operating during the newly imposed Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) period from March 29 to April 4, 2021, subject to travel protocols set by the Philippine Department of Transportation (DOTr).

Philippine Airlines Travel Advisory COVID-19 regarding international flights:

  • Arrivals at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) continue to be limited to a maximum of 1,500 passengers per day for all airlines combined. 
  • As a result, airlines are compelled to cancel some flights and/or re-route some to land in Cebu or Clark instead to ensure that they stay within limits. Please regularly check for updates on daily flight operations.

Philippine Airlines Travel Advisory COVID-19 regarding domestic flights:

  • Domestic flights to and from Manila may continue to operate subject to compliance with any restrictions on flight frequencies or capacity that may be imposed by each Local Government Unit (LGU) of the concerned destination cities. 
  • Domestic travel to and from Manila shall be limited to essential travelers and Authorized Persons Outside of their Residences, namely:
  1. health/emergency frontline services personnel
  2. government officials and frontline personnel
  3. duly-authorized humanitarian assistance actors
  4. persons traveling for medical/humanitarian reasons
  5. persons going to the airport for travel abroad
  6. persons crossing zones for work or business permitted in the zone of destination, and going back home.
  7. returning or repatriated OFWs and other Overseas Filipinos (OFs) returning to their places of residence

In line with the DOTr guidelines, airlines shall strictly adhere to the health and safety protocols established by the government authorities.

OPTIONS FOR OUR PASSENGERS:

Should your flight be canceled due to the above restrictions and limitations, you may:  

  1. Convert your ticket to a Travel Voucher (request until June 30, 2021);
  2. Avail of unlimited rebooking (no rebooking fee) until December 31, 2021. If you will be completing your travel in the same booking class by June 30, 2021 (or ticket validity, whichever comes first), there will be no fare difference charge;
  3. Refund your ticket without penalties.

If your flight is not affected by cancellations or a travel ban, you can make voluntary changes to your flight following the new No-Worry Flight Fare Brand. Updated Philippine Airlines Travel Advisory COVID-19 (March 22, 2021)

Philippine Airlines to carry only ‘Essential’ travelers between Manila and domestic destinations.

In line with the latest resolution of the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Infectious Diseases (IATF) allowing only essential travelers in and out of the National Capital Region from March 22 to April 4, Philippine Airlines will only carry passengers traveling for non-leisure purposes between Manila and domestic stations within the said period.

Domestic leisure travelers affected by these restrictions may avail of any of the following options:

  1. Convert your ticket to a Travel Voucher (request until June 30, 2021)
  2. Avail of unlimited rebooking (no rebooking fee) until December 31, 2021. If you will be completing your travel in the same booking class by June 30, 2021 (or ticket validity, whichever comes first), there will be no fare difference charge.
  3. Refund your ticket without penalties.

If you are a leisure traveler already in a domestic destination and wish to return home, PAL will endeavor to operate flights to Manila to accommodate returning leisure travelers.

If you are a Returning Overseas Filipino (ROF), Locally Stranded Individual (LSI) or Authorized Person Outside of Residence (APOR), PAL will continue to accept you on flights, provided that you secure all requirements by your Local Government Unit (LGU).

Updated Philippine Airlines Travel Advisory COVID-19 (March 19, 2021)

The Philippine government is now allowing ALL FILIPINOS to enter the Philippines, but is suspending the entry of most Foreign Nationals effective 12:01 AM of March 22 to 11:59 PM of April 21).

Philippine Airlines announces that this update supersedes previous announcements on entry restrictions.

However, the maximum number of passenger arrivals from international flights will continue to be limited to 1,500 a day for all airlines combined into Manila for the period beginning 8:00 AM of March 18 up to 8:00 AM of April 19.

The restrictions are part of a series of pandemic control measures announced by the authorities.

Philippine Airlines Travel Advisory COVID-19: Restrictions on Entry of Foreign Nationals

Effective 12:01 March 22 to 11:59PM April 21, the entry of Foreign Nationals into the Philippines shall be temporarily suspended, EXCEPT for the following:

  1. All Filipino Citizens, whether Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs);
  2. Diplomats and members of international organizations provided they hold a valid 9(e) visa or 47(a)(2) visa at the time of entry;
  3. Foreign nationals involved in medical repatriation endorsed by the Department of Foreign Affairs – Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs or the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration provided they hold a valid visa at the time of entry;
  4. Foreign seafarers under the Green Lanes program for crew change provided they hold a 9(c) crew list visa at the time of entry;
  5. Foreign spouses and children of Filipino citizens traveling with them provided they have valid visas at the time of entry;
  6. Emergency, humanitarian and other cases approved by the National Task Force on Covid-19 provided foreign nationals have valid visas at the time of entry.

Options for Affected Passengers

If you are covered by these flight cancellations and/or travel restrictions within this period, you have the following options: 

  1. Convert your ticket to a travel voucher with 10% bonus and valid for up to 2 years, which must be requested on or before June 30, 2021.
  2. Avail of unlimited rebooking (no rebooking fee) until December 31, 2021.  If you will be completing your travel in the same booking class by June 30, 2021 (or ticket validity, whichever comes first), there will be no fare difference charge. 
  3. Refund your ticket without penalties.
