Antique Travel Requirements Update
Antique province has lifted the Safe, Swift, and Smart Passage Travel Management System (S-PaSS) requirement for fully vaccinated tourists and returning residents.
Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao lifted the S-PaSS requirement to open the economy of the province further and also in response to the request of the Antique Association of Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Owners (AAHRRO) through its vice president for external affairs Neil Huele during the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force for Covid-19 (IATF Covid-19) meeting recently.
Antique is now open to domestic tourism as per Executive Order No. 2021-014 signed by the governor on February 2. The order says that Antique is now a “tourist-friendly province.”
This is good news for the tourism industry of Antique as it will help attract more tourists to our province. The AAHRRO has been pushing for this since the S-PaSS was implemented early this year.
Under the S-PaSS, all tourists and returning residents must be fully vaccinated against measles, rubella, and other vaccine-preventable diseases before entering the province. This requirement has been a hindrance to the tourism industry of Antique as it has discouraged some tourists from visiting our province.
With lifting the S-PaSS requirement, more tourists will now be encouraged to visit the Province of Antique. This will help boost the economy of the province and also create jobs for its people.
