COVID South Korea Travel Requirements

South Korea Travel Requirements per Philippine Airlines Advisory: Incheon, Pusan (ICN, PUS)

Allowed Travelers

  • Korean Nationals
  • Holders of diplomat visa, government official visa, agreement visa, ABTC, APEC CARD, Long-term visa of more than 90 days, overseas Korean visa, and refugee travel document
  • Foreigners or non-Korean Nationals staying for a long period of time re-entering the country after obtaining a re-entry permit when leaving the country after June 1, 2020

General Requirements

MEDICAL DOCUMENTS

  • Negative COVID-19 Test (RT-PCR) Result taken within 72 hours prior to departure

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

Quarantine Requirements

  • Korean nationals and Long-Term Foreigners must quarantine for 10 days at their residence
  • Short-term foreign residents must quarantine for 10 days in a government-managed quarantine facility (expenses to be paid by passengers)
  • Self-quarantine is possible if a family relationship with a Korean or long-term foreign residents is confirmed (within third cousin, direct descendant)

South Korea Travel Requirements per Cebu Pacific Advisory

Updated as of December 7, 2021

Based on government regulations, guests bound for Korea are advised of the following guidelines:

Entry Regulations

  • Single-entry and multiply-entry Korean visas for short term stay issued on or before April 5, 2020 are revoked
  • Re-entry permit exemption for long-term foreign residents in Korea is suspended
  • All guests bound for Korea must secure a re-entry permit before departure, except for holders the following visa types or documentation:
    • Diplomat Visa (A-1)
    • Government Official Visa (A-2)
    • Agreement Visa (A-3)
    • Overseas Korean Visa (F-4)
    • Refugee Travel Document

Travel Requirements

All guests bound for Korea are required to bring a printed copy of a valid negative RT-PCR (swab) test result, issued no more than seventy-two (72) hours before departure date, from an embassy-designated hospital.

The COVID-19 Test Certificate must follow these requirements

  • Must include the guest’s name and date of birth, which should be identical to what appears in his/her passport. Passport number or ID card may be accepted in lieu of date of birth.
  • Must include test type, test date, test result, issue date, and the name of the testing institution.
  • The test must be based on gene amplification detection. Accepted tests include PCR, LAMP, TMA, and SDA. Antigen and Antibody detection tests such as RAT and ELISA will not be accepted. All forms of self-administered tests are NOT valid, regardless of test type.
  • Children under the age of six (6) at the time of arrival may be exempted from this requirement, if all accompanying adults are able to submit a valid negative PCR test and have no symptoms of COVID-19.

Guests who fail to provide proper documentation verifying a negative COVID-19 PCR test result will be denied entry.

Quarantine Regulations

All arriving passengers will be required to undergo a 14-day quarantine, to be paid by the passenger. Self-quarantine will be allowed for passengers staying with a long-term foreign resident or Korean national, if a familial relationship is confirmed, except if the passenger is from Tanzania, South Africa.

Guests who are fully vaccinated and will not be arriving from countries with a mutated virus may be exempted from quarantine. Please coordinate with the Korean Embassy to secure a Quarantine Exemption Letter.
