AirAsia Advisory: Credit Account Validity Is Now Extended To 2 Years
In its latest AirAsia Advisory announces that all AirAsia passengers who have booked tickets but were not able to fly because of the COVID-19 pandemic can now take advantage of an extended Credit Account facility. This means the validity of their tickets has been extended up to two years or 730 days, with an unlimited flight change option according to the same AirAsia Travel Advisory.
Eligible passengers are those who have existing trip bookings made on or before April 17, 2020, with departure dates between March 23 and June 30, 2020. They can now choose from the following highly flexible options:
Unlimited AirAsia flight changes
Passengers can request for an unlimited number of changes to any new travel date before October 31, 2020, on the exact route without any additional cost subject to seat availability; OR
AirAsia Credit account
Passengers can retain the value of their flight bookings in the guests’ AirAsia BIG Member account for future AirAsia travel to be redeemed within 730 calendar days or two years from the date of issuance. But it is on the condition that the travel date of the new booking falls at any time within the published flight schedule on airasia.com.
For more information, eligible guests can go to the AirAsia COVID-19 Guide for the step-by-step instructions of availing the airline’s Artificial Intelligence chatbot AVA on support.airasia.com to choose their options.
Likewise, passengers who have received their Credit Account before this travel advisory announcement can also request via AVA an extension of validity for their unused Credit Account.
The AirAsia Advisory noted, though, that the above guest information is only for direct online bookings made via the official AirAsia website.
For bookings availed through travel agents or third party booking websites, passengers should refer to their respective booking agents or travel website support for further assistance.
The AirAsia advisory calls for patience since its customer support services, including the AVA chatbot, are presently receiving a very high volume of requests. AirAsia is assuring everyone that its support staff is doing everything to assist all guests at this time. AirAsia also explained that it is prioritizing guests with immediate flight departure.
Furthermore, AirAsia assures that it is putting to top priority the safety and wellbeing of its guests. It is complying with the different regulations and restrictions imposed by the different countries, their civil aviation authorities, the various global, and local health agencies, including the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The same AirAsia Travel Advisory stated that the budget carrier is closely monitoring the current situation as regards COVID-19 and reserves the right to announce further policies according to the latest developments.
